Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.
I got all kinds of historical fiction I've been coveting for awhile this week!
I went to Barnes & Noble for some "me" time after a particularly stressful day with the boy and got:
- The Secret Confessions of Anne Shakespeare by Arliss Ryan
- Cathedral of the Sea by Ildefonso Falcones
On Thursday evening I stopped at a FOL sale and on Saturday I took boy to the library and browsed the stuff they had for sale. Between the two I got:
- The Queen's Man by Sharon Kay Penman
- To Dance with Kings by Rosalind Laker
- The Queen's Lady by Barbara Kyle
- Lucrezia Borgia by Sarah Bradford
- The Memoirs of Helen of Troy by Amanda Elyot
- Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran
- Lady of the Sea (Isolde Bk 3) by Rosalind Miles
From Paperbackswap I got:
- Dragonknight by Donita K. Paul
and finally won from the awesome blog Historical Tapestry:
- To Defy a King by Elizabeth Chadwick
I have no idea what to read first! Hope everyone else had a mailbox stuffed full of great reads this week.
Great books! Loved Cleopatra's Daughter and Lucrezia Borgia was good too :) Can't wait to get my hands on To Defy a King!
ReplyDeleteI want to read Cathedral by the Sea but it doesn't seem to be out here, or at least not in the library system, so I may have to buy it.
ReplyDeleteCleopatra's Daughter and To Defy a King are both really, really good! ;-)
I loved Cleopatra's Daughter. Every single book on your list looks fantastic. Enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteI loved To Dance With Kings, but it is on the romancey side. I've heard mixed opinions on the Barbara Kyle book.
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely good looking books! Happy reading! My mailbox is at The Crowded Leaf.
ReplyDeleteCleopatra's Daughter is on my wish list as I loved Michelle's other two books! I wouldn't know which book to start with either! Enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteOoohhh congrats on the win of To Defy a King! So cool!
ReplyDeleteAnd great finds at the library sale (I love those). To Dance with Kings is FANTASTIC!!!! It's one that I want to read over and over! I also loved Cleopatra's Daughter!
Happy Reading!
