The Opposite of Reading Slump..

So, I am having an issue that I think every blogger encounters at least once in awhile.  No, not the dreaded reading slump where you go through every book in your library and nothing sounds good.  It's quite the opposite actually-the dreaded writing slump that occurs when you are devouring one delicious book after another and although you know you *should* take a breather and write reviews on them already you just want to KEEP READING!

This problem has dogged me for a whole month now!  When I was taking my statistical methods and astronomy classes I had no time to read at all (or eat or sleep really).  Since those two have ended I have been blazing through books and I just want to read more.

On my completed but not reviewed pile as of today:
  • Quarantine by John Smolens
  • The Second Empress by Michelle Moran
  • The Ruins of Lace by Iris Anthony
  • Princess Elizabeth's Spy by Susan Elia MacNeal

Completed books for mini review or Friday Reading Journal post:
  • The Street Sweeper by Elliott Perlman
  • The Gilded Chamber by Rebecca Kohn
  • The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

All these reviews to write and yet all I want to do is curl up in my blanket with my cup of coffee and Gilbert asleep on my feet and read some more!  What is a girl to do?

The goal is to churn out two a week until I get caught up.  My course load for school doubles on the 1st of November and I won't get another break until December 12th.  Can I do it?  We shall see....

  1. I know exactly how you feel, Holly. I sometimes have to force myself to write reviews. I love to write them, but I do find I have to be in a writing mood rather than a reading mood.

Good luck getting them all complete! I am looking forward to your thoughts on all the books you have listed.

  2. Yes! I have a huge amount of books to review. though I haven't been reading much lately either. So maybe I'm just in a double slump...

  3. Oh, I know that feeling. I only just got around to writing one for an arc I finished a month and a half ago. It is a dangerous trend, since could forget some of what goes on. But all I want to do is read non arcs right now.

  5. I don't have a blog but I do need to write reviews from books not received from giveaways. You could do a compromise. Do one review a day and rest as much as you want for the day.

I reviewed Princess Elizabeth's Spy and thought it was easy to do that review. I am eager to read your review of The Ruins of Lace. I guess that doesn't help!

  6. I definitely think that everyone goes through a review slump every once in awhile. I've really had to force myself to sit down and write some more reviews instead of reading more just so I can stay caught up!!!
