Mailbox Monday

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia at A Girl and Her Books.  Mailbox Monday is currently on tour and this month it is making it's home with Jenny Q at Let Them Read Books.

This month I wouldn't be surprised if my mailman started forwarding me his chiropractor bills.  It has been phenomenal!  Packages at the doorstep!  Mailbox bursting at the seams! I love it!  I did make myself a tiny promise that if I got $ for Christmas or my birthday I would use it toward practical things I need-NO BOOKS.  Using a giftcard I got for Amazon, I decided to have a last splurgy hurrah.  See results of said hurrah below :)

 From Amazon:

  • Sins of the House of Borgia by Sarah Bower
  • Vlad: the Last Confession by C.C. Humphreys
  • Dracula, My Love by Syrie James
  • The Queen's Rival by Diane Haeger
  • Wolves Among Us by Ginger Garrett
  • Watermark by Vanitha Sankaran
  • The Queen's Daughter by Susan Coventry
  • Secrets of the Tudor Court by D.L. Bogdan
  • Eliza's Daughter by Joan Aiken
  • A Race to Splendor by Ciji Ware
  • Lily of the Nile by Stephanie Dray
  • A Bloody Field by Shrewsbury by Edith Pargeter
  • The Countess and the King by Susan Holloway Scott
  • Secrets of the Tudor Court: By Royal Decree by Kate Emerson
  • The Lady and the Poet by Maeve Haran
  • The Pale Rose of England by Sandra Worth

Won from LibraryThing Early Reviewers:
  • The Winter Palace by Eva Stachniak

From NetGalley for Review:

Right after I requested At the Mercy of the Queen and The Crown from NetGalley, I was asked to be part of the tour for them through Historical Fiction Virtual Book Tours.  It's a sign I was meant to read them :)

From my PBS Historical Fiction Forum Secret Santa (Thank you again Donna!):
  • The Conquest by Elizabeth Chadwick
  • Daughters of the Grail by Elizabeth Chadwick
  • Daughters of Spain by Jean Plaidy

From PaperBackSwap:
  • Rival to the Queen by Carolly Erickson
  • The Pindar Diamond by Katie Hickman
  • A Noble Assassin by Christie Dickason
  • The Tangled Thread by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles

DEAR SANTA,

Um, due to being incredibly blessed in the book department recently, I will not be needing books for Christmas (but you can still send some if you want-I've been good.  I swear!!!)

  1. Wow, Holly, what a fantastic mailbox this week! I have many of your books on my shelves, although only a few of them have been read as of yet -- my favourite of them being Elizabeth Chadwick's The Conquest.

    Enjoy!
