The Ultimate Hotel for Book Lovers

I was googling "unique hotels in Europe" today to do some research for my 2011 vacation with my big sis. I want to avoid chain hotels if at all possible and am looking for accomodations that will be a little different and memorable. While perusing I ran across this article which lists the 5 best hotels for book lovers:

One of these is right here in the US in NYC! Floors are themed according to the Dewey Decimal System and include themes from Astronomy to Slavic Languages to Fairy Tales. Amenities include:

  • A wine and cheese reception every evening
  • DVD Library of AFI's Top 100 films of the 20th Century
  • Poetry garden with terrace
  • Writer's Den with fireplace
  • Rooftop lounge serving signature cocktails such as the Capote or The Great Gatsby

As if that wasn't enough its less than 2 miles from The Strand Bookstore. New Yorkers why have you been keeping this a secret?!

Me thinks if I ever become a millionaire I will not buy a mansion-I will buy this hotel. I am almost afraid to stay here if I ever visit NYC. I may never check out!

  1. I'll have to check this out next time I'm in Manhattan - I used to work at Madison and 41st *scratching head* trying to think of the building this hotel is in... Thanks for posting about this!
