Mailbox Monday

It's monday! Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page. Although my mailbox was not nearly as full as last week I did get a few goodies:

From Ebay I ordered:

  • Ladies in Waiting by Anne Somerset

From Amazon:

"Far from being servants or decorative accessories in court, ladies-in-waiting competed for real positions of power--and many succeeded in their goals, sometimes betraying their queens in the process. A few even became royal mistresses. Drawing on a wide variety of primary sources, this lively, full-scale study by a bestselling author combines anecdote with searching analysis to create social history at its most colorful and entertaining."

And from PBS I got:
  • Dawn on a Distant Shore by Sara Donati
  • Nine Dragons by Michael Connelly
  • Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy

Tess I got from a Classics swap. I am very excited about finally getting the Michael Connelly book. I love this author and have read almost all of his books. My favorites are by far the Harry Bosch novels and this one is the latest. Thats it for me this week.

Hope everyone else had a fabulous mailbox!

  5. I read Dawn on a Distant Shore in January. I liked it, but not as much as the first and third books. I'm hoping to finish the series this year. Funny, I just pulled my old copy of Tess out to read again at some point this year! Enjoy your goodies!
