The 2013 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge is being hosted by the ladies at Historical Tapestry-one of my fave historical fiction blogs!  I don't know why I haven't participated in this one before but this year I am not missing out.

There are five different reading levels to choose from:

20th century reader - 2 books
Victorian reader - 5 books
Renaissance Reader - 10 books
Medieval - 15 books
Ancient History -25+ books

Since I am a total historical fiction junkie I will be going for the  Ancient History category.

  3. I will be choosing some ancient history as well. I just finished the best book called, "Shadow of the Sun" by author Merrie P. Wycoff. This is historical fiction novel that showcases the mysticism/paranormal aspects of ancient Egypt. The author has thoroughly researched the topic and brings the reader back to Egypt during the time of the ancient Egyptian Royal Court. The story is told through the eyes of Princess Meri-Taten, daughter of the heretic Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti.

I fell in love with this book.

  5. James-official rules can be found by clicking on the link to Historical Tapestry in my post. Basically it just has to be historical fiction and then you post your review in the dedicated monthly post they put up when you finish one.
