It's Monday! What are you reading?/Mailbox Monday

It's Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey.

You may have noticed it has been nothing but crickets chirping on this blog for awhile.  That is because I am plugging away at two classes right now.  I have one more week to go and then its a blissful three week break in which I plan to catch up on all of my back reviews.

Read this week:
  •  The Twelve by Justin Cronin
  • What Looks Like Crazy on an Ordinary Day by Pearl Cleage
  • Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes

Reading Now:

  • The Last King of Scotland by Giles Foden

Upcoming Reads this week:

  • The Twelve Rooms of the Nile by Enid Shomer
  • Death Comes for the Archbishop by Willa Cather

Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia.  This meme is currently on tour and this month it is making it's home @  Suko's Notebook.

I had bunches of books come into my house this week.  Guess I got a little over excited about having that three week break from school because now I've got enough new books to last three month.

For Review:
  • The Ambassador's Daughter by Pam Jenoff
  • The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin
  • Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini
  • A Murder at Rosamund's Gate by Susanna Calkins
  • Roses Have Thorns by Sandra Byrd

From PBS:
  • In Need of a Good Wife by Kelly O'Connor McNees
  • San Miguel by T.C. Boyle
  • In the Woods by Tana French
  • The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton

Bought:
  • The Rising Tide by Jeff Shaara
  • The Steel Wave by Jeff Shaara
  • The Shadow Queen by Rebecca Dean

That's it for me!

  21. I did like the Twelve although since it was so long after The Passage that it came out it took me awhile to remember all the characters.

  24. What an awesome mailbox! I have both The Secret Keeper and The Aviator's Wife, which I just got today. Looks like you have some great reading coming up during your time off. I also have two weeks off during the holidays but with middle-graders time flies with all sorts of activities!

  25. What an absolutely great list! The Aviator's Wife is already getting rave reviews, and you can never go wrong with Kate Morton. I thought In Need of a Good Wife was just fantastic as was In the Woods. What did you think of Matterhorn? It was one of my first audiobook experiences, and I just loved it.

  27. Hi Holly,

You will LOVE "The Secret Keeper" - it was my fav read of 2012. Also, I was wondering if I would be able to borrow or buy or copy of "Even Roses have Thorns" to do a review of it. Let me know!
    Thanks,
