Suddenly Sunday

Suddenly Sunday is hosted by Svea at A Muse in the Fog.

Hope everyone has had a fabulous weekend. It is still frigid here in Michigan so once again I stayed indoors all weekend. Unfortunately, due to some work related turmoil, I didn't get any reviews posted for this week. I did get some reading done though so coming up this week are reviews for:
  • Here be Dragons by Sharon Kay Penman
  • The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry
I am about 1/3 of the way through City of Dreams by Beverly Swerling and liking it so far.

This weekend I took the time to reorganize and weed through my bookshelves. That took me the better part of yesterday evening. I also hit the sale section of the library, the used bookstore in another library and 1 Goodwill and had some fantastic finds. I have come to realize I love the thrill of the "hunt" as much as I like the reading.

Also wanted to mention that there are a ton of great giveaways going on around the blogosphere. Here are a the ones I've seen in case anyone is interested:

So many great books... so little time!

  1. I will be looking forward to your review of Here Be Dragons! I have heard great things about it and just purchased a copy a few days ago.

Here is my Suddenly Sunday: Confessions and Ramblings of a Muse in the Fog

    Have a wonderful week!

  2. Here be Dragons is such a great book! Will be interested to hear what you think of City of Dreams. I have read the series and like some of them a lot, others not so much!

Interested to see a giveaway of Land of Painted Caves in your list. I was kind of expecting that there wouldn't be giveaways/ARCs before the release date given that it should be such a huge release naturally!

  3. Svea-Everyone at PBS has been telling me for ages that I must read Sharon Kay Penman. Wish I would have listened to them sooner!

Marg-I was surprised to see it offered too. I saw they were offering review copies on shelf awareness last week but when I went back to look I couldn't find where I saw it anymore :(
