Mailbox Monday and other various and sundry things...

Well it's been an interesting week. First the boy comes down with bronchitis. Just when it seems his bout of illness is about to let up the hubby starts hacking his lungs up. I spent the past 10 days or so being nursemaid to the two sicklings. Then just when it seems I've escaped unscathed I end up with one wicked earache I can't get rid of. During all this germ filled drama I did manage to get a little reading done and acquire some books. My review of The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart posted at Royal Reviews on Friday and reviews of The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom and By Fire, By Water by Mitchell James Kaplan will be posted some time this week.

Also in case anyone missed it and is interested, my blogoversary giveaway ends at midnight Friday and the winners will be posted Saturday so be sure to enter for your chance to win!

Now without further ado, the goods I have acquired in the past couple of weeks:

From the Librarything Early Reviewers Program:
  • The King's Daughter by Christie Dickason

From PBS:
  • The Secret of the Glass by Donna Russo Morin
  • The Circus in Winter by Cathy Day
  • Bound by Sally Gunning
  • The Book of Night Women by Marlon James
  • The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly

From Mystery House Book Shoppe:
  • A Mortal Bane by Roberta Gellis
  • The Cornish Heiress by Roberta Gellis
  • The Regent's Daughter by Jean Plaidy

From Bookcloseouts (who is offering free shipping on orders over $35!!)
  • Hester by Paula Reed
  • The Hollow Hills by Mary Stewart
  • Farwell, My Queen by Chantal Thomas
  • The Burning Land by Bernard Cornwell
  • Brendan by Morgan Llywelyn
  • The Book of Fires by Jane Borodale

Won from Goodreads:
  • Delilah by India Edghill

And now to tuck the urchin in and curl up with a hot chocolate and a good book!

  1. What a great stack of books!! Mine week was a god one as well! Here's my Mailbox: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Mailbox Monday...

Just also wanted to give you a heads up -- maybe it's just my eyesight, but I have a hard time reading your blog with the font on this background. I usually read through my Google Reader, but just wanted to give you a heads up because I enjoy visiting your blog -- if it's just my eyes, then it's just me! :)

  2. Thanks for reminding me to get that taken care of. I noticed it too but unfortunately was clueless how to fix it. Fortunately I have a friend staying with us who is a programmer and he helped me out. Is it ok now? :)
