Mailbox Monday

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.

I got a few historical fiction novels in the mail this week. I haven't actually purchased a book in almost a month and still I have received 11 books in the past 3 weeks! I finally decide to curb my book splurging a bit and simultaneously the book faeries at PBS decide to come out in full force as if to say "resistance is futile, you will be inundated". Arriving in my hot little hands this week are:

From PBS:

  • The King's Daughter by Sandra Worth
  • The Secret Bride: in the Court of Henry VIII by Diane Haeger

and passed along to me by a friend because I LOVE LOVE LOVE Monet:
  • Claude & Camille: A Novel of Monet by Stephanie Cowell

I can't wait to read this one as soon as I am done with the Serial Readers Challenge.
That is it for me this week. Hope everyone else had a mailbox overflowing with glorious books.

I think it's better to have only a few books, or even just one book, in the mail, than a whole bunch of them.

Then again, I'm biased because I have a huge stack of books that are no longer patiently waiting their turn to be read. They're going to mutiny soon, I know it!

I also find that I miss the days when I went through life one book at a time--or, if I had to read stuff for uni, no more than two or three books at a time. Sometimes less really is more! We don't need big hauls to feel rich in reading; we just need the right book at the right time! ;)

  3. These all look like great reads. A few great books are much better than a huge stack of mediocre books. Happy reading!

  7. I'm a huge fan of the French Impressionists and Historicals. That Monet book sounds incredibly intriguing despite my ever deeper mountains of books to read.

My Mailbox is up at Bibliophile's Retreat.

  12. That was so kind of the PBS book faeries to keep you supplied when you've otherwise cut back. LOL!
